Vision Programs and Services
At the core of the mission of the Minooka Lions, it is our duty to provide quality programs for the detection, treatment, and rehabilitation of those with visual impairments.
Vision Facts
- 253 million people are blind or have moderate to severe distance vision impairment (MSVI)
- 1.1 billion have near-vision impairment simply because they don’t have a pair of glasses
- >75% of all blindness and MSVI is avoidable
- 89% of people with visual impairment live in developing countries
We Have A Plan
We have a long history of serving the blind and visually impaired, and remain committed to continuing this mission into our next century of service.
Eye Glass Collection Boxes
If you have older glasses that you want to donate, the Lions Club works with a local eye doctor on refurbishing old eye glasses - pass on those older prescriptions so they can help others.

How We Help Minooka
We often assist with those in our community to help provide visions screenings and eyeglasses. Connect with our club and we will help coordinate with one of our local vision partners in town.
