In-College Scholarships
Currently Enrolled College Student Scholarship Opportunities - 2024 Updates
The Minooka Lions Club Scholarship was established in 2007, targeting graduating seniors who show potential of succeeding in furthering their education and who exhibit a commitment to serve others.
With the help of local donors, we have expanded this offering to college students who graduated from Minooka Community High School. 5 local college students will receive a $2000 scholarship to help defray the cost of their higher education expenses.
Due May 15th, 2024
REQUIREMENTS
A Selection and Review Committee will use the following criteria to make their selections:
☐ Student must be a graduate of Minooka Community High School.
☐ Student must be accepted to and attend a public or private college, university, or technical college.
☐ Student must have a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
☐ Student must ATTACH the most recent semester transcript.
☐ Student must be willing to volunteer a minimum of 2 hours during the Minooka Summerfest.
☐ Essay component, requirements, page 3.
☐ Applicant must show evidence of active participation in school and community activities/service volunteering.
HOW TO APPLY:
The application must be filled out completely, providing the requested information. Incomplete/inaccurate applications will not be considered. Submit completed application to RThompson0216@gmail.com via Microsoft PDF.
Scholarship recipients will be notified by the Minooka Lions Club through. The Lions Club Scholarship recipients will be recognized at a Lions Club Meeting, date and time TBA. Your attendance is required.
